Only The Young

We are now to a future of what we once dared to dream about and longed for under the night sky riddled with endless shimmering stars. To a replacement for the chaos that deemed harsh, lonely, arctic nights. To an end of what once hindered the children of a worthy youth — an end to countless wistful breezes of what they could have been.

Mental health repercussions for children are one of the most complex arrays of challenges during the pandemic. With arising cases, and being unable to foresee plenty of euphoric occurrences, fear, uncertainty, isolation, and parental fatigue arise which negatively affected the children's mental health. A median of 1 out of 5 young people has been reported by UNICEF for often feeling depressed, pre- and during the pandemic. The disruption indeed left young ones fearing the uncertainty of their future. The agony that lurks beyond the outbreak had everyone so engrossed in their own lives that they had forgotten about the children who looked up to them as someone they could rely on.

This year's National Children's Month aims to acknowledge the magnitude of mental health concerns among children pre- and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The well-being and mental health of the children, after all, the odds and lethargy and muddled uncertainties they suffered during a pandemic, is what we ought to improve. Children are everything that is euphoric as they bring tangerine sunbeams to this world's lonely disposition. We must seek a healthier, more productive, and less rough environment for young ones to feel more comfortable in their households. As well as, seek betterment of the life of children in the way they hoped without forsaking their creativity, imagination, or youth. We are now to a future we once longed for. To a future that does not hinder the youth of their rights. To an isolation-free future, where the health, mental, and well-being of each child will be our focus.
